This 1976 LP by one of the top names in bluegrass features the band's progressive, eclectic style, with "Pictures From Life's Other Side," "Railroad Man," "Big Rig," Herb Pedersen's "Easy Ride From Good Times to the Blues," a Stanley Brothers classic ("If That's the Way You Feel"), and two Rodney Crowell songs ("Song for Life" and "California Earthquake"). The lineup is John Starling on guitar, John Duffey on mandolin, Ben Eldridge on banjo and guitar, Mike Auldridge on Dobro, guitar, and pedal steel guitar, and Tom Gray on bass. "John Starling's rich lead vocals, John Duffy's higher lead, and Mike Auldridge's dobro gave the band a distinct sound, while Ben Eldridge's banjo work, Duffy's fancy mandolin licks, and Tom Gray's acoustic bass reminded doubters that the band, despite its smoothness, was a bluegrass band…. Cuts like 'I Haven't Got the Right to Love You' and 'Rebels, You Rest' are as good as anything the band had ever recorded."—All Music Guide
