|
Kevin Costner teams up again with Bull Durham director Ron Shelton and snags a Golden Globe nomination as washed-up golf pro Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy in this 1996 romantic comedy. McAvoy falls in love with psychiatrist Molly Griswold (Rene Russo), only to discover that she's dating his nemesis, a slick touring pro played by Don Johnson. McAvoy, who can make par with garden tools, decides that only a grand gesture, like winning the U.S. Open, will be sufficient to lure Molly away. Cheech Marin delivers a scene-stealing performance as McAvoy's best friend and caddy.
