Barbra Streisand shared the Best Actress Oscar (with Katharine Hepburn) for her screen debut as rising Ziegfeld Follies star Fanny Brice in Funny Girl. Nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, the 1968 film costarred Omar Sharif and remains one of the most popular movie musicals ever, fondly remembered for such songs as "People" and "Don't Rain on My Parade." Seven years later, Streisand reunited with Sharif for the sequel, Funny Lady, with James Caan cast as Brice's new producer. The film earned five Oscar nominations, including one for the Fred Ebb/John Kander song, "How Lucky Can You Get?"
