This enchanting collection of Celtic music comes from Ireland, Scotland, and England, as well as Canada and the U.S. It begins rousingly with the Albion Christmas Band's "Here We Come A-Wassailing," the Gothard Sisters' fiddle-and-guitar update of "Little Drummer Girl," and Druidstones’ rendition of the French carol "Noel Nouvelet" with harp and harmony vocals. David Huntsinger brings an original Celtic twist to "Angels We Have Heard on High" while Charles T. Cozens performs instrumental versions of "O Come, O Come Emmanuel’" and "Good King Wenceslas." Next comes Lasairfhíona Ní Chonaola’s "Nollaig Bhan (White Christmas)." Steve Schuch and the Night Heron showcase the mandolin on a playful "Joy to the World," while Áine Minogue incorporates both mandolin and harp on "Jezebel Carol." David Arkenstone’s "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen," with flute and strings, and Dougie MacLean's soulful Scottish rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" are the coda to a set full of spirit and resounding joy.
