Description

|
|
Based on Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize–winning novel, this 2004 film features a high-powered ensemble cast including Robert De Niro, Kathy Bates, Gabriel Byrne, Harvey Keitel, F. Murray Abraham, Geraldine Chaplin, and Pilar López de Ayala as Camila Villegas, the famous street singer "La Pericholi." The story tells of five people on an Inca rope bridge in Peru who plunge to their death when it collapses, and a Franciscan monk who witnesses the tragic event and investigates why they should share this fate.
